Cape Cod 5 will collect, retain and use information about our customers only when the Bank believes it will help administer our business or provide products, services and other opportunities to customers. The Bank will collect and retain information about customers only for specific business purposes - and will tell you why we are collecting and retaining it upon your written request. It is the policy of Cape Cod 5 to use customer information to protect and administer customer records, accounts and funds. Customer information is used to help design or improve our products and services, and to understand the financial needs and to provide quality products and outstanding service. The Bank must also collect certain information to comply with certain laws and regulations.

The Bank is required by law to have procedures in place to ensure that customer financial information and history is accurate, current and complete. The Bank will not furnish information relating to a customer to any consumer reporting agency if we know or consciously avoid knowing that the information is inaccurate.

We respect the rights of privacy of all natural persons. The Bank will not reveal specific information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to parties other than affiliated banks and companies for their independent use unless:

  • The customer requests or authorizes it
  • The information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by the customer
  • The information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency
  • The disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required

Cape Cod 5 offers Online Banking and Bill Pay services to our customers. These services are accessed through an authentication process, which requires two codes, a User ID and password. Our security measures rely in part on these codes remaining confidential. Please do not share these codes or other personal identifiers with others.

Use of Online Banking or Cape Cod 5 Bill Pay will require Cape Cod 5 to disclose personal information to third parties that assist in delivering these services. This information is retained by Cape Cod 5 or the Bank's designated third parties in order to provide the customer with the requested service.

Financial Aggregator Sites

Certain eCommerce sites may offer to provide services to you by accessing your accounts through our site. Cape Cod Five cannot guarantee the security of your account when you allow third parties to access your accounts. Please use caution when using financial aggregator sites. NEVER PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION TO A SITE THAT YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE AND FULLY TRUST.

YOU SHOULD KNOW: ALL transactions initiated by an aggregator site using access information you provided are considered to be authorized by you, whether or not you were aware of the specific transaction. You may revoke this authority only by notifying us in writing, and we may need to block your account until we issue new access codes.

Secure Messaging

Secure Messaging is a secure form of email located within Online Banking, which requires a User ID and password to access. The Bank will retain a copy of all Secure Messaging correspondence (including our response) in order to handle any follow-up questions the customer may have.

Email

Do not send confidential information to the Bank via email. Confidential information should only be disclosed using Secure Messaging, calling Cape Cod 5 or by regular mail.

Cape Cod 5 may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as by adding a statement to our homepage or by sending you a notification) and obtain your consent if required by law.
